CILICIA. Uncertain. Circa 450-400 BC. 1/3 Stater (Silver, 15 mm, 3.42 g, 6 h). Nude male figure standing right, wielding double-axe above his head with his right hand and grabbing tree with his left. Rev. Bull standing right; above, laurel branch; all within dotted linear square within incuse square. BMC Cyprus pl. XXV, 10. Cf. Leu 10 (2021), 2190 (stater), Roma Numismatics XIX (2020), 575 corr. (stater, attributed to Golgoi (?) on Cyprus) and SNG Paris 441 (stater). Of the highest rarity. Somewhat rough and with a test cut on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
